How can we remove noindex, nofollow from mobile site

Hi,

My website is not indexed in google and I found that google prefers crawling of mobile site first. But because of noindex, nofollow in mobile site website is not indexed.

I want to remove noindex, nofollow option from each pages of mobile site but I couldn't find this setting in Moto CMS HTML.

Can you please help me to solve this issue?

Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. Could you share a solution? I'm using Moto CSM 1.1.3 (I know it's old).

Hi Barbara,

We did following solution and now our site is indexing in google.

- Firstly we have stopped redirection to mobile website using javascript, for that we have unchecked "Redirect mobile devices to alternate version of site" Option (Check this option in Website Preferences -> Website Settings)

- Now we put redirection code in .htaccess file, so based on device type it is redirect to respective website and this functionality is managed by server not by javascript.

- .htaccess code

# Check if we're not already on the mobile site
  RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !/m/$

  # Check for mime types commonly accepted by mobile devices
  RewriteCond %{HTTP_ACCEPT} "text\/vnd\.wap\.wml|application\/vnd\.wap\.xhtml\+xml" [NC,OR]
  # a bunch of user agent tests
  RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} (android|bb\d+|meego).+mobile|avantgo|bada\/|blackberry|blazer|compal|elaine|fennec|hiptop|iemobile|ip(hone|od)|iris|kindle|lge\ |maemo|midp|mmp|mobile.+firefox|netfront|opera\ m(ob|in)i|palm(\ os)?|phone|p(ixi|re)\/|plucker|pocket|psp|series(4|6)0|symbian|treo|up\.(browser|link)|vodafone|wap|windows\ ce|xda|xiino [NC,OR]

  RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^(/images|/widgets|/media|/fonts|/assets|/admin|/xml|/moto|/cgi-bin)
  RewriteRule ^ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/m%{REQUEST_URI} [R,L]

As per Google's mobile first update, google bots will now crawl mobile website to index in their database instead of desktop.

Hi Saloni!

Thank you very much for your solution. Unfortunately, another problem came up. On mobile version Moto CMS inserts

<meta name="robots" content="noindex,nofollow" />.

There no option to turn it off. Therefore, Googlebot cannot index it anyway. You can check it on your own: http://www.impuls.waw.pl/m/. I already fired a request but didn't get a useful response so far.

Hi Barbara,

Yes you are right. In our mobile website also has noindex, nofollow and I asked Moto CMS how can we remove this from mobile website but I couldn't get proper answer. They asked me our server credentials which I can't give.

So for time being we did above solution and it works fine in google bot.

I can see there is no javascript redirection in your main website http://www.impuls.waw.pl/ so if you have google webmaster file in your server then in next days your website will be indexed.
